Action “From the egg to the flight” To see a crane on the earth – is a real peace of luck for the person, who observes birds. As a rule, we see them flying high into the sky, hearing their sad tube cries. Cranes leave native places, flying away to the wintering into the distant warm countries. But how do they live from the early spring till the gold autumn? How much do we know about their life in the native swamps? When and where do they arrange nests, how many eggs do they oviposit, how long do they hatch, and how do they handle growing up posterity??? There is no number to the questions.

Starting on our site action “From the egg to the flight” not only gives us answers to these questions, but it will also afford the unique possibility to see all that will happen in the family of white cranes from the moment of the nest building to the instruction of the flight of young white cranes.

Our online monitoring is a part of the largest international project “Development of a Wetland Site and Flyway Network for Conservation of the Siberian Crane and Other Migratory Waterbirds in Asia”, realized by the International Crane Foundation.

According to known ecologist Julia Gorelova, the coordinator of the Russian part of the project, the action “From the egg to the flight” not only “will make accessible private life of Siberian cranes, but also will mark the beginning of popularization of the migratory birds observations program”.

Free cranes occupy large nidicolous areas. Only the time of hatching retains pair at the fixed point - in the nest, where eggs were oviposited. All the time after hatching they roam along the swamp, hiding from the outside eyes in the impervious swamps and the impassable boggy thickets. No one saw life of the cranes family at this time.

During five months you will be able to control the reliable family history of our crane pair, as affecting red nestling transforms into the graceful bird. Being located for hundreds of kilometers, you, at any moment can see what is happening in the cranes family. You will be near these surprising birds!

In the Nursery of rare species of the cranes of the Oka Reserve Siberian cranes breed for several years.

Nursery is a special subdivision of scientific division that was created for breeding of Siberian cranes and replenishment of the failing natural Western Siberian population. All the events from the nest building to the ability of the young Siberian crane for living in wild nature will come into your view. You will see the excellent white birds, deeply attached to each other and that territory, which they consider their earth, their tender love for the nest and the eggs, their incessant concern about the nestling.
