One of the important parts of the Project was environmental enlightenment. Russian-unique project “From the egg to the flight” with the publishing in the Internet of the chronicle of nestling by Siberian crane family in the Oksky Strict Nature Reserve Nursery was realized in 2008. The action “From the egg to the flight” that was conducted within the framework of UNEP-GEF Siberian Crane Wetlands Project, not only answered a lot of questions about Siberian crane biology, but also give a unique chance to see everything that happens in Siberian crane family from the moment of nest building till flying lessons of the growing Siberian crane. More than that, all these events could be observed not only by specialists in biology, but also by common people that are not indifferent to these birds. Siberian crane family’s life was observed during five months, and red little baby-crane became a graceful bird. Security camera was established in the cage where Siberian cranes – Kieng and Glass live on April, 4, before the breeding season. The main moments of Siberian cranes’ life were fixed: nest building, oviposition, brooding, hatching, life and growing of the nestling. Methodical materials for the open ornithology-lessons were published and delivered to the teachers of Allaikhovsky and Ust’-Maysky uluses during the environmental enlightenment part of the Project. Experience exchange seminars on the summer ecological camps organization and additional ecological education were carried on for the teachers of Allaikhovsky and Ust’-Maysky uluses. At the present moment the work on the preparation of scholar field guide of migratory waterbirds is going. Folklore stories collection of the Eastern Siberia nations, devoted to migratory birds, was composed and now is prepared for publication as a work-book for out-of-school work.
